Our mission is to protect the community and its citizens from the dangers of fire and other emergencies. We strive to provide the highest level of service, professionalism, and dedication to our community.
We offer a variety of services to the community, including fire suppression, emergency medical services, technical rescue, public assists, and more. Our team of volunteers are ready to respond to any emergency or request for assistance.
The Benjamin Fire Department formed in 1929 shortly after the city become incorporated with the state. The city bought a fire truck and 1000’ of 2.5” hose. We incorporated the department in November of 1989 and applied for 501(C)3 status in January 2026.

Our first out district covers about 636 sq miles. We cover Benjamin, Truscott, Vera, and Gilliland. There is approximately 320 people in this area.
